Inks + Printers
The Epson 9800 has only matte black ink installed
This means the 9800 can only be used for matte papers
–
not glossy or luster papers
The HP Designjet printer has only photo black ink installed
This means the HP can only be used for glossy or luster papers
–
not matte papers
All printing Is done from within Photoshop
You can print to either printer from the same Mac

Putting Paper into the Epson 9800 printer
Roll paper:
Place the roll of paper into the back of the printer
Insert the edge of paper into the feeder.
Roll the spindle into the feeder until you feel resistance.
The printer detects the paper,
and feeds it automatically into the printer.
Once the paper is fed into the printer,
the front-panel display asks if you are loading a roll or a sheet.
Select Roll with the Up and Down keys. Press OK.
Select your paper category and type, or...
If your paper has an HP preset,
select the name of your paper from the list.
The printer checks the alignment and measures the width.
It cuts a strip off the leading edge of glossy or satin paper.
Other paper types are not cut.
If roll paper is not aligned properly,
Follow instructions on front panel.
When the roll is aligned,
front panel displays the Ready message.
